LAWRENCE, Ind. — Lawrence police are still investigating where two teenagers got the guns that police say they had on them Wednesday night when they were arrested inside Lawrence Central High School.
Those arrests came after police say there was a fight outside in the parking lot after a basketball game and someone — police still don't know who — fired two shots.
No one was hurt, but the incident left some parents and students questioning whether it's safe to attend school games.
"You feel very helpless at that moment, and that's the worst part about it," Stephen Holder said.
You probably recognize Holder as ESPN's Colts/NFL reporter, but Wednesday, he was just a dad waiting to pick up his teenage daughter after a basketball game.
"That's what last night was supposed to be," Holder said.
And it was, until Holder noticed some kind of commotion in the parking lot and called his daughter to see where she was.
"I heard her voice just frantically saying, 'We don't know what's going on! Something's happening!" Holder recalled. "And I immediately thought, 'Gun!'"
Turns out, Holder was right. Lawrence police say someone fired two shots during a fight in the parking lot at Lawrence Central High School as people were leaving the basketball game.

"Chaos ensued at that point," Lawrence Deputy Police Chief Gary Woodruff said.
"That's where your instincts just kick in, 'Just find your kid,'" Holder said. "Unfortunately, parents all over this country have experienced this. Now it's my turn, I guess."
Police say the teens they arrested were 14 and 15 years old. According to the school district, one attends a Lawrence Township school, and the other does not.
"One of the handguns had a Glock that had a Glock switch on it," Woodruff said.
Jim Parish, the district's head of security, said everyone had to go through metal detectors to get into the game Wednesday night, just like all the district's sporting events.
"I'm confident that guns did not come into our building at the start of the game," Parish said.
After the shots outside, though, Parish said some people ran back into the school.
"We had plenty of security, but once people get out of our building and to go to their cars, that changes the whole game," Parish said.
The game's changed for Holder, too, especially after the conversation he had Wednesday night when he finally reunited with his daughter.
"I said, 'I don't take any joy in telling you this, but you have to have survivor instincts today,'" Holder said he told her.
Even with the extra security that the district says it plans to have at Thursday night's tournament game between the girls' basketball teams from Lawrence North and Lawrence Central, Holder said for right now, there will be one less fan in the stands.
"I think we're going to step back and just let her breathe a little bit," Holder said.
The names of the teens allegedly involved won't be released because of their age, but both are facing felony charges because they allegedly had the guns on school property.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final decision on charges.
