INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man was sentenced to 56 years for his role in the 2021 stabbing death of a man on the east side of Indianapolis.
Deshae Anderson was found guilty of murder after a two-day trial in February in the death Jimario Williams.
According to court documents, on May 8, 2021, IMPD officers responded to an apartment in the 2000 block of Village Circle West, near East 25th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, on a call to assist paramedics. When officers arrived, medics told officers that Williams was pronounced dead and that homicide detectives had been called.
After speaking with witnesses, investigators learned that Williams and another man were visiting the apartment. Anderson was also there at the time. Witnesses also told investigators that Williams and Anderson had an argument in the kitchen when Anderson stabbed Williams once before leaving the apartment.
Anderson was positively identified by multiple witnesses during the investigation.
"With the assistance of several witnesses, multiple law enforcement agencies worked tirelessly to identify, track down, and apprehend the defendant," Marino County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said. "Ultimately, that collaboration is why we were able to achieve justice for Mr. Williams and his family — through people’s willingness to come forward and speak up."
