BARGERSVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - Johnson County deputies arrested a Bargersville man Thursday night after his mother told them he stabbed her.
Judy Skirvin spoke to deputies in the emergency room in Franklin while she was undergoing treatment for a cut on her arm.
She said between 10 and 10:30 p.m., her son James, 51, came home drunk and started kicking a small dog and threatening to "chop the dog up into little pieces for everyone to see," according to a police report.
When she told him to leave, James grabbed a knife and made several swipes at her, cutting her right arm across the bicep.
Ms. Skirvin's daughter drove her to the hospital.
Deputies interviewed the daughter, and went back to the house on Johnson County 550 East and arrested James Skirvin for battery with a deadly weapon.
He was living in a trailer on the property.
Deputies recovered a knife from the kitchen in the house.
