Possible key defense witness in Delphi murders faces legal troubles

The former police officer faces allegations related to his work as a Department of Child Services case manager.

DELPHI, Ind. — We are now one week away from the start of the Delphi murders trial.

Jury selection begins Monday, Oct. 14. It comes more than seven years after someone killed Abby Williams and Libby German in Carroll County.

Richard Allen is the man accused in the case. He's been locked up for two years, waiting for his day in court.

Todd Click is a former Rushville police officer and was part of the Delphi investigation. Now, he's facing felony misconduct charges related to his work as a Department of Child Services case manager. Investigators say he lied about visiting victims and families and forged signatures on paperwork.

In the Delphi case, Click has repeatedly said he and two other investigators strongly believed at least three people were involved in the murders.

It's unclear what, if any, impact this will have on the defense's plans during the trial.
