INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a body was found on Indy's east side Sunday afternoon.
According to an IMPD spokesperson, around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, officers were called to the 3300 block of North Shadeland Avenue, near 34th Street, on a death investigation. When officers arrived, they found a female with traumatic injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, Aug. 5, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 38-year-old Yolanda Renee Shields and said her death had been ruled a homicide.
According to Google Maps, the building is home to Atlas Restaurant Supply.
"Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances of this incident, and no arrests have been made at this time," an IMPD spokesperson said in a statement Monday morning.
