Man dead after shooting on northeast side of Indianapolis

IMPD is investigating after a man was shot around midnight July 29, 2024, in the 4100 block of Meadows Lane.

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a shooting on Indy's northeast side early Monday morning. 

Just after midnight July 29, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Meadows Lane, near 42nd Street and North Sherman Drive, on a report of a person down. 

When officers arrived, they said they found a man who had been shot. Medics arrived and transported the man to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Marion County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as 26-year-old Desmond Kurtz. 

Police have not shared information about a possible suspect or motive at this time.
