LOGANSPORT, Ind. — Daniel and Kristin Muir will be allowed to see their teenage son with DCS supervision.
That was the ruling from a judge in Cass County Court on Thursday, Aug. 1.
The judge agreed to modify a no contact order between the Muirs and their child, while they are awaiting trial.
The former Indianapolis Colts player and his wife, Kristin, are both charged with obstruction of justice. Daniel is also charged with battery for allegedly abusing the teen.
Attorneys for the Muirs argued that the Department of Child Services had already agreed to supervised visits with the child, so the judge should, too. The judge agreed, believing DCS would provide adequate supervision of the visits.
Camera controversy
Jerry Shoup, representing Kristin, argued the judge should not allow cameras in the courtroom.
The judge denied the motion.
“Far too much information about this was public long before it came to me, so with respect to the issue of protecting privacy, I don’t have any privacy to protect,” Judge Stephen Kitts said.
The Muirs are due back in court in October for a pre-trial hearing.
Their jury trial is scheduled for November 4.

A Silver Alert and SWAT raid
The Muirs' charges came after a SWAT raid ended in their arrests.
Their teenage son was the subject of a Silver Alert after a report from his grandmother. She provided a photo that showed the 14-year-old boy with a black eye.
Police in Ohio stopped the Muirs' car, but police did not find the teen inside. According to court documents, the teen was found at the Muirs' home in Logansport.
The Muirs were initially held without bail.
Bond was set on July 12.
