INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Court documents released Tuesday show a woman found dead in a Fountain Square church last year was strangled and stabbed.
Julie Morey was found dead in a hallway of St. Patrick Catholic Church at 950 Prospect Street on November 3.
Prosecutors charged 58-year-old Robert Burks for the murder of Morey.
Court documents revealed Morey had previously called police stating Burks had punched her in the face for declining his request for sex.
Burks is currently in the Monroe County Jail on an unrelated case.
