CLARKSVILLE, Ind — "Don't call an 'Uber' for the get-away car... even though it's clever thinking."
This was the Clarksville Police Department's message to the community after a man allegedly tried to commit an armed robbery and escape in an Uber in southern Indiana.
According to CPD, the man attempted to rob a local hotel's front desk with a screw driver. During the incident, employees fought off the man while he tried to stab and bite them.
He later fled the scene and officers were able to catch him when they spotted an Uber car with the suspect inside. The man was arrested during the traffic stop and now faces several charges for the attempted robbery and stolen car he drove to the hotel.
"Fantastic work by the day officers and great survival instincts shown by the employees," CPD posted on social media.
Clarksville is just north of Louisville, Kentucky.
