INDIANAPOLIS — A man from Cicero has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of sexually exploiting children by luring them with vape pens.

According to court documents, 26-year-old Jacob Glenn used the social media app Snapchat to communicate with girls between the ages of 13 and 15 by posing as a teenage boy and offering vape pens in exchange for sex.

Court documents show Glenn used the username "theplugfogshyde" to portray himself as someone who could obtain vape pens for those he met online.

On two occasions in 2021, court documents show that Glenn coerced a girl to sneak out of her home after midnight in order to retrieve vape pens from him. This included an instance on Christmas Eve of 2021.

Glenn picked up the child and drove her to a truck stop, where he later informed her that he would not accept cash for the vapes. Glenn told the girl that they could work out a "deal," where she could pay him for the vapes with sex. He repeated this again on Jan. 17, 2022.

Court documents show Glenn recorded the sexual content on his phone and told the girl not to tell anyone. He later used Snapchat to send a copy of the video to two other underage girls. Law enforcement reviews of Glenn's Snapchat account showed he offered nicotine or alcohol in exchange for nude images or sex with multiple victims.

These instances were not the first time Glenn had engaged in inappropriate conduct with children. In 2020, when Glenn was 23 years old, he was arrested and charged in Madison County for crimes related to sex acts with a girl between the ages of 14 and 15 years old.

During the 2020 arrest, Glenn admitted to police that he had sex with a 14-year-old girl on multiple occasions and that he was aware of her age at the time.

“These heinous crimes are one of a family’s worst nightmares. The sad truth is that applications like Snapchat are not always safe spaces, they are often hunting grounds for predators who seek gratification from their sexual abuse of our children,” said Zachary A. Myers, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.
