INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a boy was injured in a shooting on Indianapolis' near northeast side Thursday evening.
The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 1900 block of Lawrence Street, near Hillside Avenue and East 20th Street.
Responding officers located a boy who had been shot. His condition was described as "stable" when taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, a department spokesperson said in a statement.
The shooting is believed to have happened a bit east of that scene in the 2300 block of Roosevelt Avenue, near North Rural Street and Interstate 70.
Aggravated assault detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
"We are asking the community to come forward with any information that would lead to suspect information," the spokesperson said in a statement.
