SUMMITVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - Madison County Sheriff's Department officials have made an arrest after a body was discovered in the northeastern part of the county.

Sheriff Scott Mellinger said the body of Billy C. Emberton, 35, was found on Sunday. Emberton is said to be from Elwood but last was known to have had a Chesterfield address.

Later Monday, police arrested 40-year-old James "Brady" Helms for unauthorized disposal of a dead body and obstruction of justice.

Helms was booked on preliminary charges of abuse of a corpse and obstruction of justice.

Police say Emberton died at a home in the 1100 block of Church Street in Summittville last Thursday. Helms, who also lives in the home where Emberton died, allegedly removed his body from the home and took it to where police discovered it.

An autopsy Monday "revealed no conspicuous signs of injury," according to Mellinger, who expects toxicology results to provide more clues about the man's death.

The body was discovered in a wooded area about 50 feet away from a county road east of of the town of Summitville around 2 p.m. Sunday.
