BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WTHR) — A 16-year-old is being charged in connection to a homicide in Beech Grove on Feb. 16.
Sylvester Ford is accused in the homicide of his uncle Devon Ford.
Family members said Sylvester called them after the shooting saying that five people had broken into the home and shot his uncle.
He told other people it was two men who had broken into the home.
Sylvester told police he had been upset with his uncle for taking his iPad away.
He told officers he shot his uncle, but it was an accident and then he got rid of the gun by throwing it into a Burger King dumpster.
He told investigators he shot his uncle once and when Devon was screaming in pain he kept shooting him because he didn't know how to stop.
