BARGERSVILLE, Ind. — Bargersville police are investigating after a body was discovered near a retention pond just before noon Thursday.
The Johnson County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy Friday morning, ruling the death of 19-year-old Angel Luna, of Indianapolis, a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said they were searching in the area of the 3100 block of South State Road 135 in Johnson County when they found a body around 11:45 a.m.
They said IMPD detectives and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office were looking for Luna, who was reported missing Nov. 22. Police said Luna’s phone was last pinged in the area.
“It’s a general area where these pings come in. They started searching across the street, and then, they moved on to this area and located the body right beside the pond,” Bargersville police spokesperson Jeremy Roll said.
Police said the death appears suspicious and that the body was there for a while.
Police are not releasing information about a suspect.
