Teen crashes into home after being shot in Anderson

The victim was taken to an Indianapolis hospital, where his condition was described as "stable" as of Wednesday morning.

ANDERSON, Ind. — Police in Anderson are looking for a suspect after a teen crashed into a home after being shot Tuesday evening.

The incident was reported around 9:45 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 900 block of Doctor M.L.K. Jr Boulevard, near Madison Avenue. Responding officers found a car that had crashed into a house with a 17-year-old male gunshot victim inside the vehicle. 

That victim was later taken to an Indianapolis hospital, where his condition was described by police as "stable" as of Wednesday morning.

"Preliminary details indicate that the victim was inside his vehicle when a male suspect approached and shot him," an Anderson Police Department spokesperson said in a statement. The suspect was last seen running from the area.

Officers found a discarded gun when searching the scene, police said.
