INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly 10 bullet holes line the driver's side of a woman's car after an incident Sunday afternoon on the south side of Indianapolis.
The one near the front window hit the driver – the woman's grandson – in the chest before becoming lodged in the her hand, too.
"I don't know what's wrong with this world. Anybody who can stand to take another life has some huge problems," said the 85-year-old grandmother, who doesn't want to be identified due to safety concerns.
The woman said she was heading home from running errands in the shopping plaza near Southport Road and Emerson Avenue on April 7.
She said when she got to the stoplight, bullets began ripping through her car.
She's unsure why the shooter chose her car.
"We didn't deserve this. I've never done anything to anyone," she said.
Since Sunday, the shooting keeps replaying in her mind.
"I walk through my house every day looking out my window. My doors are locked. I just feel like a prisoner in my own home," she said.
IMPD initially said one of the people shot was listed in critical condition, and the other person was described as "awake and breathing."
13News reached out to IMPD to see if there was any update on the investigation and was told there is no new information.
Anyone with additional information on the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
