LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Three Lafayette teenagers have been arrested for their alleged roles in a gas station robbery last month.
According to a release from the Lafayette Police Department, on Thursday, Nov. 28 around 3:16 a.m., police were called to the Speedway gas station located at 415 North Sagamore Parkway on a report of a robbery.
Police say during the incident, several juvenile males entered the store while three of them approached the counter. One of the juveniles then allegedly committed a strongarm robbery against the clerk. All the juvenile suspects then fled on foot.
After a series of investigations, police identified one of the suspects as a 14-year-old male. They were arrested Dec. 11 for conspiracy to commit robbery. The next day on Dec. 12, detectives arrested a 15-year-old male for robbery in connection with the incident.
Continued investigation eventually led police to a 16-year-old male who was arrested for conspiracy to commit robbery.
Police say the three aforementioned teens were arrested while the remaining juveniles were identified. However, it is unclear whether or not the other juveniles will face any disciplinary action.
LPD says the investigation is ongoing and more details will be released at a later date.
