3 injured, 1 critically, in hit-and-run crash in downtown Indianapolis

The crash was reported around 4 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of East Ohio Street and North College Avenue in downtown Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured three people, one critically, Saturday afternoon.

According to a release from IMPD, just after 4 p.m. Oct. 12, officers responded to the intersection of East Ohio Street and North College Avenue, near Interstate 65/70 in downtown Indianapolis on a report of a serious bodily injury crash. 

Medics arrived on scene and transported three adults to an area hospital. Police say at least one victim was reported to be in critical condition. 

The crash happened just feet away from where dozens of shoppers and vendors were out at the Six Ways Street Market.

"I heard the crash. It was like really loud, and the first instance I thought was the booth got hit," said Vince Villanueva, vendor at Six Ways Street Market. "It was just a really scary situation."

"It's just all about staying calm and getting the situation solved and getting people out of the way," said Nick Brock, one of the people who called 911.
