3 Indianapolis men arrested after traffic stop in Greenfield leads to drug bust

Three out of the four people in the suspect vehicle received felony drug charges.

GREENFIELD, Ind. — Three Indianapolis men are in jail after a traffic stop led police to discover large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine inside the trio's vehicle.

According to a release from the Greenfield Police Department, on Monday, Oct. 14, a narcotics detective saw a speeding vehicle traveling on West U.S. Highway 40. The detective radioed for a patrol unit to pull the vehicle over and requested help from a drug-sniffing K-9. 

Officers pulled the car over and noticed a "narcotics odor" coming from inside the vehicle. This gave police probable cause to search the vehicle, where they found over 16 grams of suspected fentanyl and over 42 grams of suspected cocaine, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash. 

The three men have all been charged with the following felonies:

  • Jalen Campbell, 18: Possession of a narcotic drug
  • Joseph Douglas, 43: Dealing cocaine, dealing narcotics
  • Marcus Maxie, 54: Dealing cocaine

Douglas was also was charged with resisting law enforcement, a misdemeanor. A fourth occupant of the vehicle was not charged with any crime and was later released.
