FISHERS, Ind. — Three people were arrested after a police chase following thefts from a Target store in Fishers on Friday.
Shortly before noon April 26, Fishers Police Department officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Target on Commercial Drive, near East 116th Street and Interstate 69. As they were arriving at the store, the officers saw the suspect car driving off and pulled it over.
Three men were originally taken into custody, but a woman in the passenger seat climbed into the driver's seat and drove off, leading officers on a chase, the department said. Officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the car and took her into custody.
Police said almost 30 stolen items totaling $1,275.25 were found inside the car, along with "two illegally possessed handguns."
Three of the four people were arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Jail. The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office has filed these formal charges:
- Jaelyn Jones, 23, of Indianapolis: Resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, theft, unlawful carrying of a handgun, driving while suspended.
- Marquese Collins, 31, of Indianapolis: Driving while suspended, unlawful carrying of a handgun, unlawful carrying of a handgun with a felony conviction within 15 years.
- Jayquan Guardiola, 27, of Cicero: Outstanding warrant out of Floyd County for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and carrying a handgun without a license.
