INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed and two more were injured in a shooting early Saturday morning on the near north side of Indianapolis.
Around 3:30 a.m. June 22, IMPD responded to a report of a person shot in the 2600 block of Carrollton Avenue, near East 25th Street and North College Avenue, a few blocks west of Frederick Douglass Park.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a 21-year-old man inside of a house who was shot and in critical condition. As officers were helping the man, police said an armed suspect ran into the house and officers detained him.
Moments later, IMPD officers were called to the intersection of North College Avenue and Fall Creek Parkway, and found a 16-year-old boy who was shot, and his condition was described as "stable." IMPD believes the incident is connected to the Carrollton Avenue shooting.
Officers then found a third male in between two houses in the area who had been shot and killed. IMPD believes his death is also connected to the shooting that injured the two others.
IMPD believes a party at the house led to the shooting. The suspect was arrested by officers and faces charges for resisting law enforcement, intimidation and battery on a law enforcement officer.
(NOTE: 13News does not name suspects until formal charges are filed by prosecutors.)
