19-year-old arrested after cat set on fire in Montgomery County

Noah A. Riley, 19, told deputies he had seen several posts on social media about the incident and wanted to get the issue resolved. Police say he later admitted his own involvement in the case.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WTHR) - Deputies arrested a Crawfordsville man on two counts of animal cruelty in connection to a cat set on fire near the Crawfordsville Airport.

Noah A. Riley, 19, told deputies he had seen several posts on social media about the incident and wanted to get the issue resolved. During an interview, Riley allegedly admitted his own involvement and was charged with one count of felony Animal Cruelty and one count of misdemeanor Animal Cruelty.

A juvenile was also interviewed for their involvement and the reports will be forwarded to the Montgomery County prosecutor and the Montgomery County Probation Department for review.

Riley is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of a $1,000 cash bond.
