18-year-old Missouri man arrested in Indianapolis, accused of killing man by hitting him with car

The incident occurred in Columbia, Missouri, but the 18-year-old suspect was arrested one day later in Indianapolis.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — An 18-year-old wanted out of Columbia, Missouri was arrested Friday in Indianapolis. 

According a social media post made by the Columbia Police Department, around 8:11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, police responded to a report of shots fired in a neighborhood on the far east side of Columbia, Missouri. 

When officers arrived, they found a crashed vehicle in a wooded area and an unconscious 18-year-old man by the name of Traquan Reed. Police say Reed was intentionally struck by a vehicle. Reed was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Later that day, police arrested a 20-year-old man and 22-year-old man, both from Columbia, Missouri, in connection with Reed's death. 

According to the release, the Columbia Police Department worked with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to locate the 18-year-old suspect in Indianapolis. He was arrested on Oct. 11 on preliminary charges of robbery and second-degree murder.
