LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) - A suspect is in custody for a Thursday murder in Lafayette.
Police say 18-year-old Skyler Renn called them around 8:05 a.m. saying Talmadge Jasper, also 18, was at her home near Kennedy Park on the south side even though she had a valid protection order against him. When they arrived, police found out a man who lives with Renn was missing.
They got a search warrant for Jasper's apartment and found Renn's roommate dead inside. That victim hasn't been identified yet while detectives notify his next-of-kin.
Jasper is being held at the Tippecanoe County Jail on preliminary charges of murder, residential entry and invasion of privacy.
