2 teenagers arrested in string of robberies in Indianapolis

The two suspects are accused in seven armed robberies Indianapolis since December.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old in a string of robberies

Officers were called to the 4300 block of South Emerson Avenue on Feb. 1 for a robbery and were able to locate the suspects' vehicle.

Detectives then searched the home of the 18-year-old and recovered multiple pieces of evidence.

That led to police claiming the two teenagers were behind the following robberies:

  • 2801 Massachusetts Avenue (Valero Gas Station)December 28, 2023
  • 6279 W. 38th Street (GetGo BP Gas Station) January 13, 2024
  • 2705 Bloyd Avenue (Shell Gas Station)January 13, 2024
  • 2845 E. Michigan Street (La Campos 3) January 19, 2024
  • 1035 S. Keystone Avenue (Carnicera Mexican Grocery Store)-January 29, 2024
  • 4317 S. Emerson Avenue (Marathon Gas Station) February 1, 2024

The two were arrested on a series of charges including felony armed robbery. The final charging decision will come from the prosecutor's office.
