TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A 17-year-old suspect was arrested in Indianapolis Tuesday after a triple shooting in Terre Haute early Monday morning.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. March 25 in the 2900 block of Thompson Street, just north of Interstate 70 on the southwest side of Terre Haute.
Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds who were described by police as stable when taken to local hospitals. One victim has since been transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.
"[Tuesday], after relentless efforts, detectives, in collaboration with multiple agencies and the Vigo County Prosecutor's Office, located and apprehended the suspect in Indianapolis," the Terre Haute Police Department said in a statement posted on social media.
The department said the suspect, who was arrested on three preliminary counts of attempted murder, is a 17-year-old male from Terre Haute.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, police said.
