CLINTON COUNTY, Indiana — The Clinton County Sheriff's Office said they are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash after a teenager from Rossville died from injuries he sustained while walking along a highway.
Police said 16-year-old Reese East died at an Indianapolis hospital.
Deputies said they were called to U.S. 421, just north of State Road 26, around 2:30 a.m. June 23 on a report that a juvenile had been hit.
According to deputies, the teen had been walking on the westbound side of U.S. 421 when he was hit by a car. The driver of the car then took off, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies said the victim's mother and deputies performed lifesaving measures on the teenager. He was then transported to a hospital in critical condition.
According to deputies, they are searching for a vehicle with front-end and passenger-side damage. Anyone with information on the driver or the suspect's car should call investigators at 765-659-6394 or the Clinton County Sheriff's TIP line at 765-656-8477. At the time this article was published, a $500 reward was being offered for information leading to an arrest.
