LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Lafayette police arrested 17 people in a shots fired incident early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the 1900 block of Schuyler Ave., near Sagamore Parkway North, just after 2:20 a.m. Feb. 18 and found spent shell casings. They didn't find anyone hurt or any damage to homes or cars.
Officers learned there was a "large gathering" at the home and some sort of altercation led to shots being fired.
The people in the home were ordered out, but officers said they got "minimal cooperation."
So, police got a search warrant and went into the home around 6:25 a.m.
Seventeen people were arrested for visiting a common nuisance. They ranged in ages from 14 to 25 years old.
Officers also found two guns, one of which was reported stolen and was made to be fully automatic.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police at 765-807-1200.
