INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD officers have arrested a 16-year-old girl for her alleged role in a deadly shooting in March on the east side of Indianapolis.
According to IMPD, around 1 a.m. on March 28, officers responded to the 2200 block of Gable Drive, near 21st Street and Mitthoefer Road, on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found 25-year-old Addam Hart with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.
Homicide detectives began their investigation and ruled Hart's death a homicide.
Court documents say police found more than 30 bullet holes in the house, as well as 31 shell casings on the street and sidewalk.
According to court documents, a 5-year-old was lying in bed nearby where Hart was shot.
Detectives continued their investigation and identified 16-year-old Savannah Allen as a suspect in the shooting. Detectives located Allen on May 2 and arrested her the same day.
Court documents say one of Allen's friends said she was raped by a man who they believed lived on Gable Drive.
According to court documents, Allen told detectives that she drove her car to the house on the day of the shooting, but she allegedly said her boyfriend and another teen got out and fired shots into the house.
However, their intended target no longer lived at that home. The family that lives there had been receiving mail from the Madison County courts for a man facing a rape charge.
On May 7, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office charged Allen as an adult with murder. The prosecutor's office said IMPD is still investigating, but Allen is the only person charged so far.
A couple weeks later on May 19, IMPD announced it had arrested a 17-year-old male for murder in connection with the incident.
IMPD asks anyone with information in the incident to contact Detective Greg Shue at 317-327-3475 or email him at Greg.Shue@indy.gov. They can also contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
