FRANKLIN, Ind. — A narcotics investigation in Johnson County resulted in 15 people being taken into custody Wednesday, and more arrests are expected, authorities said.
In a press release, Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess said 32 drug warrants were issued in connection with the investigation, and 15 of those had resulted in arrests.
Johnson County deputies were assisted in the investigation by officers from Franklin and Greenwood.
"I would like to commend the narcotics detectives from each of those agencies that work every day to combat this issue," Burgess said. "Many hours go into these types of investigations. I applaud the men and women who work these cases. The working relationship between the three agencies and its personnel shows a positive results. We are very fortunate in Johnson County that all agencies work well together day in and day out."
Burgess said the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Edinburgh Police Department and United States Marshals helped locate and arrest the suspects Wednesday.
"I would like to thank the men and women who spend countless hours working behind the scenes to build these narcotics cases," Franklin Police Chief Kirby Cochran said. "The strong relationship between our agencies and the coordinated efforts of all involved are recognized and appreciated. We will remain focused and committed to our work together in combating drug related crimes in our communities."
