INDIANAPOLIS — A man was killed in a crash on the northeast side of Indianapolis Friday evening.
IMPD officers responded to the report of a crash near East 30th Street and Massachusetts Avenue around 8 p.m. Friday. Police say the driver of a silver 2014 Chrysler 200 was coming off the connector of 30th Street and Massachusetts Avenue when they drove into the path of a car that was traveling northeast on Massachusetts Avenue.
An occupant of the vehicle that was struck was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the person killed as 31-year-old Ivan Angel Castro.
Investigators are still searching for the driver of the Chrysler, who was last seen driving southwest on Massachusetts Avenue away from the scene. The front bumper of the Chrysler was left in the roadway at the scene of the crash.
If anyone spots the suspect vehicle, they are urged to call 911 with a location and description of the driver, if possible, but should not approach the driver, police said.
Others with information about the crash are encouraged to call in tips to Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS.
