FISHERS, Ind. — One person is dead and several people have been detained after a shooting in Fishers late Saturday.
Just before 11:45 p.m. March 16, Fishers Police Department officers responded to the 10000 block of Apple Blossom Circle, near Cumberland Road and East 141st Street, on reports of shots fired.
When police arrived, they found a person who had been shot. The victim was then taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Cameron Doaks.
"It's alarming, it's never happened here before, and it's a quiet neighborhood, so I am distraught about that," said Crystal Magee, a resident of the neighborhood.
Officers detained several people believed to be involved in the shooting, according to FPD. Police believe there is no active threat to the community.
Right now, neighbors want to know who pulled the trigger.
"We want to know who's behind all this, is there a motive, what happened?" Magee said. "Why come so far to do something so violent?"
This is an ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective LaShawn Tyler at 317-595-3300.
