INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested for the deadly shooting of a woman on Indianapolis' south side Thursday.
IMPD said officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 300 block of Teddy Lane, near Madison and Troy avenues, around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 15.
Officers arrived and found a woman dead in a car at an apartment complex. Police said it appeared she had been shot.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 52-year-old Rhonda R. Fox.
IMPD said officers detained 53-year-old Brian Fox on the scene and determined he was a person of interest. Homicide detectives responded to begin an investigation, and detectives arrested Fox on a preliminary charge of murder.
"Multiple members of the community cooperated during the initial stages of the investigation which was critical to making a quick arrest," IMPD said in a Facebook post.
