INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is conducting a homicide investigation after finding a 52-year-old man who had been shot Sunday afternoon on the southwest side of Indianapolis.
According to IMPD, around 4:45 p.m. July 14, officers responded to the 5700 block of West Ray Street, near West Washington Street and Interstate 465, on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, but police said he later died from his injuries. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the 52-year-old victim as Robert W. Dunn.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation.
IMPD said they were calling the incident a death investigation and working to learn more about what led up to the shooting. In an update Monday morning, an IMPD spokesperson said it was now a homicide investigation and no arrest has been made.
