INDIANAPOLIS — Next Great Architects (NGA) announced Wednesday the launch of this year's Career Exploration Charrette with Sanctuary Indy

This year's program will be focused on building tiny homes for homeless people. There will be 24 homes built, three missionary homes and a community/resource clubhouse designated for homeless veterans.

“There are currently almost 1,600 homeless individuals on our city's list for needed housing. Sanctuary Indy may not solve our homelessness crisis, but we will be a part of the solution for our most vulnerable unhoused neighbors," Michelle Shelburne, founder and president of Sanctuary Indy, said.

The camp will happen from July 22-July 26 at OfficeWorks in Fishers. It will be divided in two sessions daily with grades 6-12 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and grades K-5 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Registration for the camp is available online here

“Architecture is a great career that engages creativity and critical thinking to solve spatial problems. It is the STEM activity that is normally forgotten," said Kionna Louise Walker, founder and CEO of Next Great Architects.
