INDIANAPOLIS — Fifth Third, with the help of Rev and IndyCar drivers, made a big difference for Gleaners Food Bank on Friday.
Fifth Third donated $20,000 to the organization, which distributes food to hungry Hoosiers through a network of about 300 partner agencies in 21 counties.
Also on hand for "Fifth Third Day" were IndyCar drivers Graham Rahal, Ed Carpenter and Rev Celebrity Chef Beau McMillan. They helped pack meals and announced a special sponsorship for the IU Health Nutrition Hub.
The nutrition hub serves food to insecure patients at IU Health.
For more than 25 years, the bank has celebrated Fifth Third Day on May 3 (5/3 on the calendar) by recognizing employee contributions, thanking customers and supporting communities.
