INDIANAPOLIS — "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips will kick off the 2024 AES 500 Festival Parade in May in downtown Indianapolis.
Festivities will start at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, with the parade starting at noon. The celebration will feature floats, huge balloons, marching bands from across the country, celebrities and the 33 drivers competing in the Indy 500.
The theme of this year's parade is "Iconic Moments in Indy," to celebrate the city's history.
Phillips, who won the singing competition in 2012, will perform his music on stage alongside the Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders and Indiana Pacemates.
Tickets for the event cost $25. To get yours, click here. Proceeds from all 500 Festival ticketed events help support the organization’s free programming and events for Indiana youth and college students.
The celebration will air on WTHR Channel 13 and nationally on Peacock.
Phillips will also perform at The Vogue in Broad Ripple that night.
Tickets, which start at $20, can be purchased here. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the concert starts at 9 p.m.
Phillips has had two songs reach No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard adult contemporary chart: "Home" and "Gone, Gone, Gone."
