Parke County, Nov. 3 - "I don't believe it." Ryan Williams comforted his stepdaughter as they talked about the murders of his two daughters killed along with his ex-wife.
The only suspect, Chad Cottrell, arrived back in Indiana Wednesday night. Parke County deputies transported him in shackles by airplane from Minnesota.
Investigators say he fled to Minnesota after committing the murders.
Grandparents found the bodies of Trisha Cottrell, 10-year-old Victoria Tori Williams and her 12-year-old sister Brittany Williams. The girls were only visiting with their mother for the weekend.
The murders happened at the Cottrell's rural Parke County home on South Wimmer. Their bodies were all located in bedrooms.
A third child, a six-year-old step brother survived the killing spree. Parke County Sheriff Charles Bollinger says, "We are going to make sure he gets the help he needs to get through something like this."
The girls' father described their personalities and in tears their 13-year-old stepsister talked about how much she misses them.
Ambreena Adams says, "I loved them a lot more than I showed. If you have a brother or sister, show them who much you love them."
Ryan Williams adds, "They loved each other, they loved us. Brittany had a habit of ambushing you with hugs. Tori, she was daddy's girl. She was my shadow, my partner, she was my sidekick."
Under tight security deputies escorted Cottrell to court for a hearing on his charges. This time he wore a bulletproof vest.
Even the State Police assisted to make sure the accused killer got in and out of court without incident.
Cottrell is back at the Parke County Jail. The sheriff placed him in isolation for his own safety.
In court the judge set his trial for January.
