INDIANAPOLIS — Black Friday is around the corner and we don't want you overpaying for anything.
That's why in our Season of Savings, Allison Gormly is showing us apps to learn an item's price history and how to stack savings.
It's way easier than you think, because the apps and browser extensions do all the work for you.
But before Friday hits, take them for a test run so you're not overwhelmed.
If you're shopping in person, try the app Shop Savvy. Scan the item and it'll show you if there's a better price nearby.
If another store is cheaper, show an employee and ask for a price match.
As for Amazon, highlight the item's link you're considering and plug it in the website CamelCamelCamel. The site tracks Amazon prices so you know how low the price might go.
If you're looking elsewhere online, try the browser extension Honey. While it's known for plugging in coupon codes automatically, it also gives you a price history.
Before you buy anything, make one more pit stop at the cashback sites.
Rakuten, Retail Me Not and Ibotta can add even more savings. Just click the offer, shop like normal and the money will be deposited into your account. This is good way to save money on things that don't go on sale - think designer purses and perfume.
