Vacations are back, but they could be more costly

Reservations are up 122% from this time last year, according to Guesty.

INDIANAPOLIS — Vacations are back, but they could cost you more than before.

So What's the Deal?

Travel is up - and so are prices

Turns out a lot of people are traveling right now.

Reservations are up 122% from this time last year, according to Guesty, a rental management platform.

Nightly rates have jumped more than 30 percent, and Labor Day rental prices are higher than July Fourth, according to the report.

For Thanksgiving, the average rate per night has also increased to $436.

So why the price hike?

Consumers are booking larger properties with amenities and focusing on resort areas, which are more expensive.

Incentives for prospective employees

If you need a new job to pay for those price hikes, businesses are desperate for your help and their incentives show it.

From money for college to signing bonuses, candidates have leverage.

Some of the employers hosting job fairs Wednesday include the Rainbow U.S. Post Office, Marion County Sheriff's Office, DS Smith Packaging and Carvana.
