INDIANAPOLIS — The Christmas season is winding down, which means stores are rife with returns and clearance sections.
Here is what we found at some Greenwood-area stores.
Walmart and Target are both pretty much picked over.
The best things in Walmart's half-off sections are cookie cutters, lotion sets and party supplies.
At Target, Christmas cards are still around for 70% off, as well as cookie decorating kits and DIY chocolate drink bomb kits.
Home Depot is offering good deals, too. Fake trees, originally priced at $300, are on sale for $75. Christmas lights are less than $3 a box, and faux greenery for your table is around $3 as well.
But what you might not think of after Christmas are the returns. Returns at certain stores like Best Buy means you save money. They sell open-box items for a discount, but some deals are better than others.
A 55-inch Samsung QLED TV is $807 instead of $850, a Marshall speaker for $297 instead of $350, and a Samsung sound bar for $127 instead of $150.
Think of open-box discounts for non-Christmas returns, too.
A stove with a small dent is on sale for $500 instead of $700, and an LG fridge with no visible issues for $1976 instead of $2600.
Not all open boxes are marked with a price, so you may have to ask an associate.
Open-box deals are also online.
