INDIANAPOLIS — 2022 Amazon Prime Day starts Tuesday, July 12, and ends the next day. Every year, there are not only good deals and sales on Amazon, but many other online retailers will be offering deep discounts and special prices. Cherie Lowe, the Queen of Free, broke down some of the best offers Sunday on 13Sunrise.
Other deals are linked in Cherie's weekly blog.
Before Prime Day
In preparation for Prime Day, Amazon has been running a number of promotions to help customers build up some extra spending money.
- Collect $10 in Amazon Credit when you fill a digital stamp card.
- Look over and clip Amazon Prime Coupons
- Get $5 in Amazon Credit when you purchase a ticket to see Lightyear. Get an additional $5 if you purchase Lightyear merchandise.
- Get $5 in Amazon Credit when you purchase a ticket to see Elvis.
- Let Alexa track deals for you.
Free subscriptions
Amazon is offering a one-year subscription to Grubhub+ for free. Get those details here. If you don't want to pay $9.99 for the next year, make sure you cancel the deal next July.
- You can also get three months of Audible Premium Plus for FREE if you qualify.
- If you’ve never tried it before, you can get four months of Amazon Music unlimited for FREE.
"With all free trials, it’s smart to see if you can cancel immediately," said Cherie. "If you can’t be sure to set a reminder in your calendar app or on your phone to cancel it before a charge goes through."
Other sites
Amazon isn’t the only site with deals on July 12-13. In particular, check Target and any other website you usually shop. You can put items in your cart before the sale starts, then see if the prices drop once the sales begin.
Cherie recommends you NOT use credit for your purchases. "A deal isn’t a deal if you can’t pay for it," she said. "Especially right now, you need to be watching your personal finances more than ever because the cost of living is on the rise."
