SANTA CLARA, Calif. — A town in northwestern Indiana has been named one of Realtor.com's "hottest ZIP codes" in the country.
The town of Highland was ranked sixth in Realtor.com's 2023 rankings. The rankings are based on two main aspects of the housing market, according to Realtor.com: the market demand as measured by unique website views per property, and the pace of the market, which is measured by how many days a listing remains active on their website.
Realtor.com says the hottest areas are those that have high demand from buyers and frequently purchased homes.
Highland made the list because a majority of the listing views for properties came from within the Chicago metro area.
Other Midwestern towns that made the list were Gahanna, Ohio, which was ranked number one overall, and Trenton, Michigan, which was ranked seventh.
