HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — While home prices and mortgage rates have gone up, some families are also finding it increasingly hard to find a home, especially in one Indiana county.
According to the most recent Home Buyer Index, Henry County is the eighth most difficult county nationally to secure a home.
The index measures things like cost, competition and scarcity. The score is based out of 100, meaning the higher the number, the more difficult it is to find a home.
Henry County's score is 87, while Marion County's is 73. For comparison, the national average is 82.
The county ranked lowest on the index is Iroquois County, Illinois, just west of Benton County in Indiana.
