INDIANAPOLIS — NOTE: The above video is from a story on Amazon bringing hundreds of new jobs to Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development unveiled a new job-search site to help Hoosiers guide their career choices.
The Hoosier Talent Network from Eightfold AI will connect employers with workers disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.
There are currently more than 135,000 jobs open and waiting to be filled in Indiana.
“This is a state-supported program committed to bringing our people back to work,” said Fred Payne, DWD commissioner. “We are here to support those in need, and the Hoosier Talent Network is another resource the DWD offers to help Hoosiers improve their lives.”
People looking for a job can upload their resume or fill out a work history and include skills and hobbies. The site will then connect people to possible positions that match their skills or where new skills could be learned.
Companies that are hiring can also use the site to find potential workers that match the skills they are looking for.
“The Hoosier Talent Network will open up new doors for employers and connect them with the jobseekers who are the best matches for their current workforce needs,” said Chad Carter, DWD’s Hoosier Talent Network project leader. “This platform has the capability to be a gamechanger in getting the state’s employers back on track for future success after the employment challenges of 2020.”
