RecycleForce, Keys2Work hold ribbon-cutting ceremony for new east Indianapolis building

The businesses help people who are homeless and those who have been incarcerated with integrating back into society.

INDIANAPOLIS — RecycleForce and Keys2Work are showing off their new building on the east side of Indianapolis.

The ribbon-cutting event, held at 816 N. Sherman Drive in Sherman Park, dedicated a new street sign – Second Chance Way – as well as honored those who have been through and are currently in the program.

Recycle Force and Keys2Work help people who are homeless and those who have been incarcerated with integrating back into society.

People who are involved in the program can get a job, certifications and have mentors.

Frederick Sconiers, who was in prison for three years for armed robbery and burglary, is involved in the program.

After being released, Sconiers was referred to the RecycleForce program and said it's a game-changer for some.

"A great opportunity, opportunity for you to thrive and arise above yourself and above it all," Sconiers said. "You have to see it for yourself, but this place will not only be your family, your friends, it'll be your freedom."

The ribbon-cutting was topped off with honoring the Juneteenth holiday and a lunch for those in attendance.
