INDIANAPOLIS — A new, 40,000-square foot marketplace just opened its doors in downtown Indianapolis.
The AMP features more than 20 food, retail and entertainment vendors in the Riverside neighborhood.
More than half of The AMP's businesses are a completely new concept, and 65% are female- or minority-owned.
"This is more of a community center than I would say just a food hall. That's why we have a stage as well," said The AMP's general manager Craig Baker. "We can hold concerts, music, we can have presentations. A company, if you have a new product and you're going to reveal it as a CEO, you can host all of that here."
The European-style marketplace features only locally-owned small businesses.
"We tried to diversify our cuisine, diversify our ownership," Baker said. "You can come in for wings and greens to pizza, tacos, cheesesteaks. You name it, it's all here."
Some of the concepts you can find at The AMP include:
- Frankie’s Pizza Parlor: Authentic New York-style pizza from Indiana ingredients created by the owners of Turchetti’s Salumeria and Turchetti’s Delicatessen.
- Circle City Sweets: An all-from-scratch French and American shop offering a variety of products from croissants, breads, macarons, cakes and pastries.
