WASHINGTON (WTHR) - Nearly 600,000 pacifier and teether holders have been recalled due to a potential choking hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Thursday of about 590,000 "Dr. Brown's Lovey pacifier & teether holders" because of a snap that could detach and choke a child.

The holders come in eight styles: Giraffe, Zebra, Turtle, Reindeer, Frog, Spring Bunny, Deer and Bunny. The only holders involved in the recall have the following lot codes printed on a tag attached to the holder: RICH0615; RICH0715; RICH0815; RICH1215; RICH0516; RICH0616; RICH0716; RICH1116; RICH1016; RICH0916; RICH1216; RICH0317; RICH0417; RICH0517; RICH0617; RICH0717; RICH0817; RICH0917.

If you have an affected holder, take it away from your child immediately and contact Handi-Craft, who makes the holders, at 833-224-7674 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT Monday through Friday, or visit the Dr. Brown's website for more recall information.

The CPSC says they have received 67 reports of the ribbon fraying and the snap coming off, but no injuries have been reported. The affected holders were sold at retailers including Bed, Bath & Beyond, K-Mart, Target, Toys R Us/Babies R Us and Walmart, plus online at Amazon.com, between August 2015 and March 2018.

The holders sell for about $10.
