Indianapolis - Marsh Supermarkets announced Tuesday that it has sold its McNamara Florist division to the current president and COO, Mr. Toomie Farris, and his partners. Farris has been president of the operation since shortly after Marsh purchased it in March 2000.

"We decided to sell McNamara Florist as part of our strategic plan to focus on our core grocery business," said Frank Lazaran, Marsh Chairman and CEO. "We couldn't be happier that we had the opportunity to sell McNamara to Toomie Farris, and I am confident this excellent brand will remain successful under his leadership."

"Proceeds from the sale will be re-invested into Marsh Supermarkets as we continue to refresh our existing stores and open new ones," Lazaran said.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the McNamara management," said Toomie Farris, President of McNamara Florist. "It has been a pleasure working with Frank Lazaran and the Marsh team. We believe this transition will be a win-win for all involved. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers with the quality products and excellent services they have come to expect the last 54 years."

Business will continue as usual, and Marsh will continue to use McNamara as a wholesaler.
