Lowe's hiring hundreds of workers in Indianapolis for National Hiring Day

Lowe's is looking to hire nearly 1,000 workers around Indianapolis next week.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Lowe's is looking to hire nearly 1,000 workers around Indianapolis next week.

The home improvement retailer is hiring full- and part-time positions, as well as in-store seasonal jobs during its second annual National Hiring Day event on February 13. Hiring managers will be available at stores in central Indiana and across the country to meet potential candidates, who may also receive job offers on the spot.

Job seekers can visit any Indianapolis Lowe's store on Wednesday, February 13 between 10 a.m.-7 p.m. to speak with hiring managers.

Permanent positions available include customer service associates, cashiers, stockers and loaders, plus department supervisor positions.

The seasonal positions include cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers and loaders, usually between February and September, Lowe's said in a release. The company said nearly 40 percent of seasonal hires moved into permanent positions.

Lowe's announced plans last month to hire more than 65,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal workers across the U.S. They hope to hire 50,000 of those jobs next week.
